abstract close up of wood from vintage truck

Etched in History, Part 1

Capitol Reef National Park

Sink into the details of "Etched in History." The patterns are intriguing in the stunning detail revealed in this close-up photograph. I found a lone wooden wheel in an abandoned water truck from the 1940s. Once used in mining, the vintage truck the wheel sits on is sinking slowly into deep sand. Any hope of pulling it out is dimming day by day.

The myriad of tones and textures capture a forgotten history and the passage of time. Think of the dreams of striking it rich: all the intense efforts, high hopes, and a few windfalls. In a minimalistic black and white, we wonder at the forgotten stories surrounding these lost times.

I get lost thinking about how this wooden wheel was used, what it witnessed, and where it traveled. Spin your stories, and display this photographic work of art in an entryway, hallway, or living room as an eye-catching conversation starter. Or perhaps hung next to the fireplace, you'll remember to bring in more wood before the fire dies.

And paired together with "Part 1" makes a striking diptych with maximum textures on your wall. Photo © copyright by Ann Newman.

For contemporary abstract art, the intricate patterns need exacting details. The vibrant colors beg for illumination to deliver a sense of awe. The art itself should be the focus rather than a frame. And while the light may change in your room throughout the day, the subtle sheen from the surface should always be stunning. Lumachrome Acrylic prints offer a high-end option for a superior display that is frameless and ready to hang. Learn more about Lumachrome Acrylic prints here.

And please don't struggle over choosing art. I can help you "Preview Your Walls" so you know precisely how an abstract photography print will finish your room. I'm standing by to assist.
